oh wild wild horses
joy on the wings of the wind
untouchable, free
wild horses my love
like you on a summer day
glistening desire
fields of golden manes
frolicking in the sunlight
in unbridled delight
oh whinnies and nickers
your wild joy pulls at my heart
don’t snort me away
the sound of thunder
wild hoofs barely touching the earth
where are you going
oh I see you there
hiding in strawberry trees
swishing your high tails
a prick of the ear
a faint snort before bolting
run free wild beauty

A NOTE ON THE WILD WILD HORSES SERIES
This winter, while playing with watercolours, I created this little ‘wild, wild horses’ series. Each piece began as a doodle and then, as the colours were introduced, an image emerged. To my surprise these horses appeared!
It was an experiment in letting go - letting go of expectations and entering into creative play without a preconceived notion of what what the outcome should be. Surprising and delightful!
I’ve interspersed them with another fun little creative experiment - my first attempt at haikus! A bit of whimsy!
